Empowered Families Occupational Therapy Assistant

Emma Wood is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with over ten years of experience in childcare and development. She received her Associates of Applied Science from the Coleman College of Health Sciences, and she is actively pursuing a Bachelors degree in Medical and Health Services Management through South Texas College. Emma plans to continue her education with a Masters degree for Occupational Therapy. She has always had a passion for helping others, and she has pursued this through volunteer work with charity and religious organizations. Emma believes in a strong connection of the body and mind, and she uses her eight years of experience in martial arts to help children grow and become stronger. She prioritizes social and emotional learning in all her work, and she is interested in pursuing research that further defines the connection between physical and emotional well-being in children. Emma has conducted trainings on behavioral and emotional regulation for typically developing children and children with unique needs, and she has been a mentor and fieldwork internship educated for students from various Texas colleges.
