Michelle Atanu

Director of Empowered Families

Michelle Atanu, MOT, OTR is an occupational therapist who works holistically with children and families. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of children with sensory processing challenges, feeding disorders, mental health challenges, behavior regulation concerns, learning disabilities, attention deficits and children with cognitive and neuromotor/ musculoskeletal impairments. She is a graduate of The University of Texas’s Masters of Occupational Therapy program, holds a bachelors in Community Health from Lamar University, is the appointed Standards and Practice Chair for the Texas Occupational Therapy Association, she sits on the advisory board for the PIMA Medical Institute’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, is a guest lecturer for local and statewide schools and universities, is a professional conference speaker, a clinical fieldwork internship educator and authors several evidence-based newsletters and articles for professional journals and magazines. Michelle strongly believes that every child deserves to have an opportunity to reach their absolute highest potential.
