Next Gen
Generation One’s Next Gen is an out-of-school time enrichment program for former Academy students in kindergarten through high school. Offering after school, summer, and remote learning activities and support, Next Gen’s mission is to empower youth to live out their passions, spiritual convictions, and creativity to succeed and change the world around them. Next Gen serves as a distance learning hub for students that attend there classes remotely due to COVID. The campus provides supervision, support, technology, and internet access so that students can keep up with the coursework. Educators and volunteers provide students with support for academic and personal growth, talent development, as well as tutoring and mentoring. When in-person classes are in session, transportation from area schools to the Generation One campus is provided at no charge.
Become a Mentor
Each One Reach One Mentoring is seeking more men and women to walk alongside the youth in this community. Mentors are asked to make a 2 year commitment to spending a minimum of 6 hours a month, meeting at least 2 times a month with their mentee. We also ask that mentors check in weekly by phone when possible. We match kids from age 4-18 and you can request the age range you are most comfortable with. The biggest need is in the range of 4 years old - 13 years old. Our goal is to have every student 4 years old and older, that is actively engaged in Generation One through the Academy or Step It Up after school program, matched with a mentor. When that goal is met, more children from the community can be matched. A mentoring relationship can really change the life of a child, in a fairly small amount of time!
Bring Out a Volunteer Team
Generation One hosts teams for selected projects to improve the campus. Depending on the need, projects may be planned around group size and skill level. Ministry and student groups as well as corporate volunteer teams are encouraged to come out and help out.
